Neon Green Torch Coral

Neon Green Torch Coral provides a long-tentacled LPS form for an open area of the aquarium. Its polyp can extend well beyond the skeleton, so choose its location by the space available around the living tissue and not simply by where the base fits.

Begin under moderate illumination and make changes gradually. Broad water movement should carry the tentacles back and forth without holding them against rock or the skeletal rim. A secure attachment and consistent reef conditions help prevent repeated physical stress.

The coral relies substantially on photosynthesis and may take small marine foods. Offer limited amounts and remove rejected food rather than repeatedly pressing it toward the mouth. Keep a generous gap to other colonies and observe nighttime extension; a torch's stinging sweepers can reach areas that appear safely separated during the day.
