Sunkist Rhodactis Mushroom

Sunkist Rhodactis Mushroom is a fleshy corallimorph for a sheltered area of a reef aquarium. Its soft disc needs room to expand around the attachment point, so position it away from the reach of aggressive stony corals and avoid crowding other mushrooms against it.

Low to moderate lighting and gentle, indirect flow provide a starting place for acclimation. Strong currents can fold the disc or encourage detachment, while abrupt increases in light can cause prolonged contraction. A stable support and consistent conditions are more useful than repeatedly moving the mushroom to chase a particular appearance.

Rhodactis uses photosynthesis and can take small marine foods. Offer a modest portion that it can hold and fold around, allowing time for a feeding response. Keep uneaten food from collecting beneath the disc and leave space for future growth.
