Rainbow Hammer Coral (Per Head)

Rainbow Hammer Coral is offered per head and brings the shaped, fleshy tentacles of a hammer coral to a reef display. Select an open site where the polyp can expand without resting on rock or another coral's tissue.

Moderate light after acclimation and variable, indirect circulation provide sensible starting conditions. Watch the movement of the tentacles: they should not remain compressed against the skeleton by a narrow jet. Support the hard base when placing the coral and allow it time to settle before making further lighting changes.

The coral relies substantially on photosynthesis and may accept small marine foods. Keep feeding optional and restrained if it rejects the offering. Give its stinging tentacles space and inspect nearby corals for contact, especially as the reef fills in around the original placement.
