Pink Tipped Torch Coral

Pink Tipped Torch Coral adds the moving, long-tentacled form of a torch to a mixed reef. Choose a position with open water around the polyp, leaving a buffer between its expanded tentacles and neighbouring corals or abrasive rock edges.

Introduce it under moderate light and increase exposure gradually if necessary. Water movement should change across the colony and keep the tentacles mobile without pushing them against the skeleton. Check that the base is secure before allowing the coral to expand fully.

Photosynthetic nutrition can be supplemented with a small portion of marine food that the polyp can retain. Avoid force-feeding or repeatedly disturbing a withdrawn head. Give this coral room for sweeper tentacles, and reassess nearby growth periodically so a once-safe gap does not become direct contact.
