Pink Birdsnest Coral

Pink Birdsnest is a branching Seriatopora coral whose fine skeleton gives a reef display a light, intricate texture. Branches become interwoven as a colony develops, so allow more growing room than the starting fragment appears to require.

Moderate to strong circulation should reach around and through the branches. Acclimate the coral to its intended lighting rather than moving it abruptly into a brighter position. Keep the colony securely positioned where neighbouring corals cannot fall onto its delicate structure.

Like other stony corals, birdsnest uses calcium and carbonate to build its skeleton. Follow the aquarium's changing consumption through regular testing as colonies grow.
