One Spot Rabbitfish

The One Spot Rabbitfish, also known as the One Spot Foxface, has a yellow body, dark facial markings and a dark blotch on its side. The blotch can vary in shape between individuals.

Give this rabbitfish open swimming space and shelter where it can withdraw. Its dorsal spines are venomous, so aquarium maintenance and transfers must avoid contact with them. Other rabbitfish can provoke territorial encounters even when unrelated fish are tolerated.

Marine algae, seaweed sheets and prepared herbivore foods should feature prominently in its meals. Coral compatibility needs monitoring: rabbitfish may nip soft or stony coral polyps, particularly when dietary needs are unmet. Regular feeding reduces that pressure but does not establish a guarantee for every reef.
