Jawbreaker Discosoma Mushroom

Jawbreaker Discosoma is a named mushroom corallimorph, a soft-bodied relative of stony corals. It lacks the branching or plated skeleton of SPS corals and can spread by leaving small pieces of its attachment behind as it moves.

Start with low light and low water movement. A forceful current can cause a mushroom to detach and drift, making secure placement difficult. Increase lighting gradually if needed, watching expansion and tissue condition instead of trying to force a particular colour.

Small foods may be accepted in gentle flow, although routine heavy target feeding is unnecessary. Allow room around the mushroom as it expands and multiplies.
