GREEN FROGSPAWN CORAL

Green Frogspawn Coral needs an open position for its inflated polyps and multiply tipped tentacles. Its living outline can be much wider than its hard base, so plan a clear area around the colony before fixing it to the aquascape.

Moderate light and broad, variable circulation suit initial placement. Acclimate to a different fixture gradually, and avoid a direct stream that continually presses the tissue against the skeleton. A stable base helps prevent falls and abrasion while the coral opens.

The colony uses photosynthesis and may accept small marine foods, although direct feeding is not always readily accepted. Offer modest amounts and stop if it repeatedly rejects them. Allow space for its stinging tentacles and keep it away from aggressive torches. Recheck clearances as both the frogspawn and nearby colonies grow.
