Frogspawn coral for reef tanks

Frogspawn corals have multiply tipped tentacles that expand above a stony skeleton and move with the current. Check the specimen's skeletal form and open dimensions before choosing a location, leaving space around the living tissue rather than fitting the base into the smallest available gap.

Moderate light after acclimation and variable, indirect circulation are useful starting conditions. Keep the skeleton securely supported and avoid a narrow jet that pushes the flesh against its hard edges. Photosynthesis supplies much of their nutrition; small marine foods are optional when accepted, and repeated rejection does not justify heavier feeding.

Frogspawn can sting surrounding corals and can also be injured by more aggressive torch corals. Maintain separation and inspect the layout after full extension, including at night. Revisit placement as nearby colonies grow into what was originally open space.
