Gold Hammer Coral (Per Head)

Gold Hammer Coral is offered per head and displays the flattened tentacle-tip form that gives hammer corals their name. Allow enough open space for the polyp to extend beyond its skeleton and move without touching adjacent colonies.

Use moderate light during acclimation and indirect, changing water movement. A secure base prevents the coral from falling onto the substrate or another animal. Avoid locations where a pump constantly drives the tissue against the skeletal rim.

Its symbiotic algae provide much of its energy. Small marine foods can be offered sparingly, but a hammer that repeatedly rejects food should not be forced to take larger meals. Leave room for possible sweeper tentacles and check neighbouring colonies as they grow. Keep it separated from aggressive torches even in a display arranged around similar flowing LPS corals.
