Black Torch with Green Tip

Black Torch with Green Tip is a long-tentacled stony coral that brings movement to an open reef position. Its extended tentacles occupy far more space than the skeleton, so plan the surrounding gap before fixing the base in place.

Moderate light after gradual acclimation and broad, changing circulation let the tentacles move naturally. Avoid a narrow pump jet that holds the flesh against the skeleton or forces it into nearby rock. Keep the mounting surface secure so the coral cannot fall when its tentacles are extended.

Photosynthesis provides much of its energy, with small marine foods offering supplementary nutrition when accepted. Feed modestly rather than pressing food into the polyp. Torch corals can sting surrounding colonies, so maintain open space and check their reach after dark as well as during daytime expansion.
