Yellow Cucumber ( Filter Feeder)

The Yellow Cucumber is a filter-feeding sea cucumber that raises branching feeding arms into moving water. It gathers suspended particles instead of processing sand in the manner of the common deposit-feeding cucumber types.

Provide an established aquarium, secure attachment surfaces and a dependable feeding program using suitable fine phytoplankton and zooplankton foods. Current must carry food to the extended arms. Persistent shrinking or loss of feeding structures is a reason to review nutrition promptly; bright lighting cannot replace adequate food.

Protect pump intakes and overflows and avoid fish that pick at exposed tissue. Serious stress or injury can cause a release harmful to other aquarium animals. This combination of specialized feeding and injury risk makes the Yellow Cucumber a considered choice for an experienced keeper, rather than a general cleanup-crew animal.
