Yellow Coral Banded Shrimp

The Yellow Coral Banded Shrimp combines yellow coloration with the banded limbs and conspicuous claws of the boxing-shrimp group. Long antennae help it explore around a protected rock crevice, especially in dimmer parts of the aquarium.

Give it a shelter with enough open space to move freely. House it singly unless working with an established compatible pair, and watch interactions with smaller shrimps. Closely packed crustacean communities may experience territorial conflict even when the shrimp is well fed.

Offer varied marine foods in portions that reach its shelter. Its natural cleaning behavior does not replace the need for a dependable diet, and it should not be purchased as a guaranteed parasite treatment. Stable salinity, clean water and protection during molts support long-term care; copper-based medications are unsuitable for its system.
