Yellow and Peach Pistol Shrimp

Yellow and Peach Pistol Shrimp is a snapping shrimp for a marine aquarium with secure shelter. Its specialised claw produces a sharp snap that can be heard outside the tank. Provide crevices and, if it digs, an area where substrate can be moved without destabilising rocks or burying nearby livestock.

Direct small meaty marine foods toward the shelter so the shrimp has a chance to collect them. Watch feeding and territorial interactions with other bottom-dwelling inhabitants. Snapping shrimp can take small animal prey, so delicate ornamental shrimp should not be assumed safe simply because the pistol shrimp is colourful.

Allow quiet cover for moulting and maintain stable water conditions. Confirm the actual species before choosing a goby companion: yellow and peach are colour descriptions, and they do not establish that a shrimp will form a partnership.
