Unicorn Naso Tang

Unicorn Naso Tang needs exceptional swimming room and a long-term plan for a very large adult. Several Naso species are called unicorn tangs, and many reach 60–90 cm (2–3 feet). Confirm the scientific identification and expected adult dimensions before choosing this fish; the size of a juvenile does not establish a suitable permanent aquarium.

Keep broad swimming routes open, with strong water movement, good oxygenation and filtration that can handle substantial feeding and waste. Offer a varied marine diet with suitable algae-based and animal foods, then match the balance to the confirmed species and the foods the individual takes. Check that the fish maintains a well-filled body rather than assuming every unicorn tang has the same grazing needs.

Assess other large tangs carefully for crowding, chasing and competition at meals. Allow room to retreat without trapping a fish between decorations. Sharp defensive spines near the tail also call for care during maintenance and transfers.
