Two Spot Bristletooth Tang

The Two Spot Bristletooth Tang (Ctenochaetus binotatus) has fine blue lines, facial spotting and two dark marks near the bases of the dorsal and anal fins. It is an active surgeonfish that spends time working over established reef surfaces.

Give it adequate swimming routes and mature rockwork without narrow areas where it can be trapped by another tang. Territorial behaviour toward other surgeonfish is possible even when unrelated fish are tolerated.

Supply marine algae, seaweed and suitable prepared foods as part of a varied feeding routine. Grazing in the display can supplement those meals, but a clean aquarium should not leave the fish dependent on incidental food. Monitor its access to feeding areas when other grazing species share the system.
