Tomato Clownfish (CB)

This Tomato Clownfish (Amphiprion frenatus) is listed as captive bred. The species develops a strong red-orange colour and a prominent pale head bar; additional juvenile striping can disappear as the fish matures.

Tomato clownfish become more territorial as they grow, so they need space and companions chosen for their adult temperament. A mature fish may defend its area during routine aquarium maintenance. Existing shy feeders and other clownfish need particular consideration.

Offer a varied menu of appropriately sized marine meaty foods and herbivore preparations. Confirm the current fish's feeding routine and any observed pairing status before making breeding plans. Captive-bred status does not establish that two separately selected fish will become a compatible pair.
