Tiger Tail Cucumber

The Tiger Tail Cucumber is a sand-feeding sea cucumber with a patterned body and projecting papillae. It often works from a sheltered position, extending into nearby feeding areas while part of the body remains concealed.

Provide mature sandy substrate and accessible caves in a larger established system. Its diet comes from the small organic material associated with that habitat, so available feeding area matters more than a simple animals-per-gallon rule. Monitor body condition as the aquarium's food resources change.

Guard all pump intakes and overflows before introducing a cucumber. Injury or severe stress can lead to harmful defensive releases, and the soft body needs protection from nipping tankmates and rough handling. Maintain stable water conditions and avoid copper medications. This animal requires a planned, long-term feeding habitat rather than being added solely for cleanup.
