Sunburst Anthias

The Sunburst Anthias, Serranocirrhitus latus, has a deep body with pink colouring and yellow-orange highlights. It is often called the Fathead Anthias and tends to remain near shaded rock shelter rather than constantly displaying in a large open-water school.

Create caves, ledges and quieter areas with subdued light. Peaceful tankmates should allow it to emerge on its own terms. A fish that spends all day hiding from boisterous companions may struggle to obtain enough food even in an otherwise healthy aquarium.

Offer small marine meaty foods in several portions through the day, including mysis and enriched brine shrimp. Prepared foods can add variety when accepted. Confirm that meals reach its preferred part of the aquarium; the feeding success of more outgoing anthias is not a reliable measure of this fish's intake.
