Singular Bannerfish

The Singular Bannerfish, Heniochus singularius, has a deep body with contrasting bands and a trailing dorsal banner. That banner is especially prominent in young fish and becomes proportionally shorter with maturity; adults can reach roughly 25 cm.

Choose a spacious aquarium with peaceful companions and enough room for the fish to turn around rock structures without damaging its fins. Leave sheltered areas as well as open swimming water. This is a substantial butterflyfish, even when first offered as a small juvenile.

Offer a varied marine diet with suitably sized meaty foods and plant-containing preparations. Confirm dependable feeding during acclimation. This species is unsuitable for a typical coral reef aquarium. The shared bannerfish silhouette does not establish identical care or feeding behaviour across every Heniochus species.
