Seram Blenny

The Seram Blenny, Salarias ceramensis, is a rock-associated grazer whose mottled pattern can vary between individuals. It uses its surroundings for feeding and shelter, making the quality of an established grazing area more important than a bare open display.

Arrange mature live rock with accessible surfaces, perching points and small retreats. Peaceful companions should allow it to browse throughout the day. Other grazers can create competition even when there is no obvious chasing, especially after the aquarium's natural algae supply becomes sparse.

Offer herbivore pellets, spirulina-based preparations or other appropriate marine algae foods to supplement natural growth. Small meaty items can contribute variety without replacing the algae component. Check body condition regularly and confirm that supplemental foods are being eaten before relying on them as its main food supply.
