Sea Grass Caulerpa

Sea Grass Caulerpa creates a meadow-like effect with flat green blades growing from connected runners. Despite the trade name, it is a macroalgae rather than a true flowering seagrass, which matters when choosing a marine planted display.

Provide moderate light and low to moderate circulation that keeps the blades clean. The runners can establish among sand or rock, and new growth may spread beyond the original planting area. Leave room to reach the colony without disturbing neighboring corals or uprooting the entire aquascape.

Regular trimming keeps the display open, while removal of harvested growth exports absorbed nutrients. Inspect the runners as well as the visible blades so damaged sections do not remain hidden. Maintain the crop as living livestock and contain discarded fragments instead of releasing them into drains or outdoor waters.
