Saron Shrimp

The Saron Shrimp is a patterned, largely nocturnal shrimp often found sheltering among reef rubble. Its coloration can look different after dark, and its mottled body helps it disappear into the background during daylight hours.

Give it a dark retreat that remains accessible for feeding checks. Offer small marine meaty foods, such as thawed plankton-based foods or finely chopped seafood, near the shelter. Allow time to settle rather than repeatedly exposing it by moving rocks to find it.

The Saron Shrimp is unsuitable for a typical reef community. Plan a compatible display around its feeding behavior and watch interactions with other invertebrates. Keep copper medications out of the system, maintain steady salinity, and protect the shrimp from disturbance and predators during a molt.
