Rhino Blenny

The Rhino Blenny, Paraclinus marmoratus, is a small, mottled blenny also known as the Marbled Blenny. Its irregular pattern suits a life close to structured bottom habitats, where patches of rock, vegetation and shelter break up its outline.

Provide an established aquarium with accessible retreats and quiet places to feed. Choose companions that will not swallow it or continually disturb its preferred area. A little fish blending into its surroundings still needs to be observed regularly to check that it is feeding and maintaining condition.

Offer appropriately sized marine meaty foods and suitable carnivore preparations, confirming which foods the individual accepts. This is a carnivorous blenny whose natural feeding includes small bottom-dwelling animals; it should not be purchased with the expectation that nuisance algae will provide its complete diet.
