Red Grape Caulerpa (Clipping)

Red Grape is an ornamental red macroalgae with rounded, grape-like bladders carried on branching stems. It is often sold under the name Red Grape Caulerpa, but the familiar red form belongs to Botryocladia rather than the green-algae genus Caulerpa.

Provide moderate light and gentle to moderate circulation. Set the clipping where its branching shape can be seen without being pressed against other growth, and handle it gently to avoid damaging the bladders. Allow it to establish before repeatedly moving it around the aquascape.

Use it mainly for display, with nutrient uptake as a secondary benefit. It generally does not match a fast-growing refugium crop for nutrient export. Monitor growth and condition, remove damaged material, and harvest surplus growth when needed rather than relying on color alone to judge its health.
