Queen Angelfish

The Queen Angelfish is a large marine angelfish with vivid blue and yellow adult colours and a distinctive forehead marking. Its eventual size and appetite make it a long-term choice for a substantial aquarium, rather than a fish selected only for juvenile colour. Adult length can approach 45 cm.

Provide abundant shelter and mature rock surfaces alongside open swimming space. This angelfish can be assertive and may nip corals and clam mantles. A display containing valuable sessile invertebrates needs a different compatibility assessment from a fish-only aquarium.

Feed a varied menu that includes suitable angelfish preparations, marine algae and meaty foods. Several manageable meals support a more deliberate feeding plan than occasional community leftovers. Confirm the available fish's eating response and current diet before arranging its move.
