Pumpkin Patch Psammocora is a named small-polyp stony coral frag. Psammocora commonly grows across its supporting surface, producing a textured patch of small polyps rather than the large heads of a typical LPS colony.
Provide medium to strong circulation to move food past the coral and keep sediment from settling. Gradually acclimate it to moderate or brighter reef lighting; an established coral's tolerance does not justify an abrupt increase in intensity for a newly moved frag.
Fine suspended marine foods can supplement its photosynthetic nutrition, but large amounts of food can degrade water quality. Maintain stable calcium, alkalinity and magnesium as the coral builds its skeleton. Keep neighbouring growth clear of its developing edge and reassess water movement as the reef fills in.
