Princess Anthias

The Princess Anthias is a deepwater fish with pink colouring and fine golden markings. Its adjustment to aquarium life can be demanding, particularly when shipping stress and an unfamiliar feeding routine occur together.

Begin with sheltered, subdued areas and peaceful companions. Provide caves and overhangs without eliminating open swimming space or water movement. Quieter surroundings give a newly introduced fish the opportunity to settle before it must compete with assertive residents.

This anthias needs frequent small meals of suitable marine prey foods. Try fine frozen mysis, enriched brine shrimp and other appropriately sized foods while tracking actual intake. Group housing requires enough room for social interactions and escape routes; colour alone is not proof of a stable male-female group.
