Penderson's Anemone Shrimp

Pederson's Anemone Shrimp is a small, largely transparent cleaner shrimp with blue and purple markings. It can establish a cleaning station, using its antennae to attract fish, and may associate with a suitable anemone.

Provide live rock with sheltered spaces for resting and molting. An anemone is not essential for keeping this shrimp, and adding one brings a separate set of care requirements. A quiet aquarium makes it easier to observe the shrimp and ensure that it is not being crowded out.

Offer finely sized marine meaty foods even when cleaning behavior is visible. Cleaning other fish does not guarantee complete nutrition or provide a replacement for disease management. Avoid fish and larger crustaceans likely to eat small shrimp, and watch that food reaches its chosen shelter.
