Naoko's Fairy Wrasse

Naoko's Fairy Wrasse (Cirrhilabrus naokoae) has a distinctive elevated dorsal fin, with mature males showing strong red, yellow and dark contrasts. Female colouring is different, and sex should not be inferred from a generic product image.

Provide clear swimming room alongside rockwork containing caves and shaded retreats. This active fairy wrasse needs a securely covered aquarium. It can dominate related fairy or flasher wrasses, so introductions should account for existing territory and offer a way to separate incompatible fish.

Feed varied small marine carnivore foods, including frozen mysis and enriched brine shrimp, with appropriately sized prepared foods as accepted. Watch for quieter fish losing access to meals when evaluating a wrasse combination.
