Molly (Saltwater)

Mollies are livebearing fish that need space to swim and sheltered places to withdraw from persistent attention. Before moving a molly into a marine aquarium, confirm its current holding salinity and the acclimation plan with the store. The Saltwater label alone does not provide the measurements needed for that transition.

Offer a balanced omnivorous diet with an algae-rich prepared food and suitable small animal foods. Grazing in the aquarium supplements meals; it does not establish that every fish is receiving enough nutrition. Feed manageable portions and watch for fish repeatedly pushed away from food.

Species, strain and sex matter when planning a group. Male attention can be stressful for females, and mollies can produce live young, so consider shelter and future stocking before buying several. Confirm the current variety before choosing adult tank dimensions or assuming the body and fin shape shown for another molly.
