Midnight Ocellaris Clownfish

The Midnight Ocellaris Clownfish is a dark, unbarred form of Amphiprion ocellaris. Young fish can retain orange colouring before darkening, and some adults retain orange around the face. The name describes the colour form rather than a separate species.

Care follows that of Ocellaris: provide a stable marine aquarium, suitable shelter and companions that allow it to feed comfortably. Consider any resident clownfish's territory before adding another; a matching colour form does not establish compatibility or a bonded pair.

Offer appropriately sized marine omnivore foods, including suitable prepared and frozen diets. Confirm what the available fish currently accepts. Allow for continued colour development when choosing a young fish for a particular appearance.
