Mexican Turbo Snail

The Mexican Turbo Snail (Turbo fluctuosa) is a substantial marine algae grazer with a rounded, heavy shell. It feeds on algae growing across aquarium glass and rockwork, including suitable filamentous growth.

Allow plenty of grazing space and secure loose rocks and coral pieces. A Turbo Snail can move lightweight objects while travelling through the aquascape, so a crowded frag arrangement needs particular attention before adding one.

Provide suitable supplemental algae foods if natural grazing becomes insufficient. Keep this slow-moving snail away from predators and copper-based treatments. Its appetite makes food availability an important stocking limit: match the number of snails to what your tank can sustain after the visible algae has been reduced.
