LIVE ROCK PER LB

Live rock provides hardscape and living surfaces for a marine aquarium's biological community. Sold here by the pound, it can be used to build sheltered spaces and expand an aquascape while preserving open routes for fish and moving water.

Plan support carefully so individual pieces cannot shift onto livestock or aquarium panels. Inspect newly acquired rock for attached organisms and assess its condition before adding it to an established display. Rock that has experienced transport stress or die-off may need separate conditioning and monitoring.

Protect established marine life from drying and unnecessary handling. Check ammonia when introducing rock and make stocking decisions from measured water conditions rather than the rock's appearance. Live rock varies in shape, density, and attached life, so weight does not translate into a guaranteed aquascape size or identical biological maturity.
