Koran Angelfish

The Koran angelfish, Pomacanthus semicirculatus, is also called the semicircle angelfish. Its dark juvenile body carries curved pale bands that change into a very different, speckled adult pattern. Choose it with that eventual transformation and growth in mind. Reported adult growth reaches about 41 cm (16 inches), with the body depth of a large angelfish.

A spacious, established aquarium should provide broad swimming routes and substantial rock caves. Offer sponge-containing angelfish foods together with algae-based preparations and marine meaty items. Watch that the fish eats regularly while it explores and grazes its surroundings.

Attached reef invertebrates may be sampled, so its compatibility with a coral collection cannot be guaranteed. Other large angelfish may become territorial competitors. Confirm the available specimen's size and maturity, and ensure the intended long-term home is suitable before selecting it for its juvenile colours.
