King Midas Zoa Frag

King Midas is a zoanthid frag for a polyp garden or an isolated section of reef rock. Plan its position around the colony it may become, with room at the margins so expanding polyps do not cover nearby coral plugs.

Acclimate it from a lower-light area rather than immediately placing it beneath the strongest part of a reef light. Provide enough moving water to carry away detritus between the polyps. Zoanthids are photosynthetic and can also capture tiny food particles; optional feeding should remain light enough that uneaten material does not accumulate on the mat.

A small frag still requires sensible handling. Wear gloves and eye protection and keep damaged coral tissue away from your face. Because some zoanthids contain palytoxin, never boil, steam or otherwise heat the rock supporting this colony.
