Hebrew Cone Snail (venomous)

The Hebrew Cone Snail is a patterned predatory snail with dark markings on a pale, heavy shell. It belongs to the cone-snail group, whose members use a specialized venom-delivering tooth to capture prey.

This is a worm-feeding specialist rather than an algae grazer. A suitable aquarium must provide an ongoing source of appropriate prey, and a normal cleanup-crew diet of algae or occasional fish food should not be assumed sufficient. Its predation also matters when preserving the aquarium's worm community.

Do not handle a living cone snail by hand or treat a closed shell as safe to touch. Plan secure housing and a transfer method that prevents contact with the animal. The combination of specialized feeding and venom makes this a choice for an experienced specialist, not a routine community-aquarium purchase.
