Green Finger Leather brings an upright, branching soft-coral form to the aquascape. Plan for the extended colony rather than only its attachment point, leaving space around the branches and keeping them clear of nearby stony coral tissue.
A moderately lit position with steady water movement suits common green finger leathers. Flow should circulate around the entire colony without rubbing it against rock. Much of its nutrition comes from photosynthesis; any supplemental feeding should involve fine suspended particles, not large pieces of food placed on the branches.
Temporary contraction and a waxy surface layer can occur during shedding. Good circulation helps that layer clear, but persistent tissue breakdown needs investigation. Leather corals also release compounds that can irritate other corals, making spacing, water changes and suitable chemical filtration useful in a mixed reef.
