Frilly Arrow Crab

The Frilly Arrow Crab has fine, spreading legs and a spider-like stance. These Podochela crabs favor rock ledges and caves, where their delicate shape can blend into the surrounding growth. Provide sheltered perches with enough room for the legs to extend freely.

This is a carnivorous crab. Offer appropriately sized marine meaty foods where it can collect them, and verify that food reaches its shelter. It may catch small bristleworms and other worms, but it should not be purchased with a guarantee of controlling a particular aquarium pest.

Compatibility needs planning: ornamental shrimp and feather-duster worms are at risk, and hungry crabs may attack small or injured fish. Its habit of walking over coral and picking between branches can also disturb nearby animals. A display arranged around its behavior is more suitable than a community of delicate shrimp and tube worms.
