Flame Back Angelfish

Flame Back Angelfish are rock-associated dwarf angels that spend much of the day investigating cracks and grazing surfaces. Build an established aquascape with caves, short escape routes and room to move between them. A bare or newly stocked aquarium offers little of the foraging habitat these fish use.

Provide varied marine foods, combining algae-based preparations with suitable meaty and angelfish foods. Natural grazing supplements feeding; it should not be the only source of nutrition. Check feeding response after introduction and maintain a routine that gives the fish repeated opportunities to eat.

Allow for territorial behaviour, particularly toward similarly shaped angelfish. Coral and other invertebrate compatibility requires observation because dwarf angels may pick at them. The flameback name covers more than one Centropyge species; confirm the current identification before choosing a second angel or relying on a particular adult colour pattern.
