The Electric Blue Knuckle Hermit Crab is recognized by blue legs with dark banding and bright antennae. It carries a borrowed shell as it explores rockwork and substrate, grazing available algae and investigating potential food.

Provide an established aquarium with enough grazing to support it. Offer dried marine seaweed when algae runs short, and check that food reaches the crab rather than being removed immediately by fish. Its activity helps diversify a cleanup crew, but does not remove nutrients from the system on its own.

A suitable selection of empty shells is an essential part of the setup. Hermits may attack live snails to obtain housing, so spare shells reduce competition without guaranteeing peace. Keep delicate frags secure and observe interactions with other shell-bearing animals as the crab grows.
