Caramel McFlurry Chocolate Chip Sea Star

The Caramel McFlurry Chocolate Chip Sea Star is listed as a color form of the familiar knobbly chocolate chip star. Its sculptured surface and slow movement can make it an engaging animal in a suitably planned marine display.

This is a predatory sea star with significant compatibility limits. Chocolate chip stars can eat soft corals, sponges, tube worms and other attached invertebrates, so a mixed reef full of those animals is a poor match. Allow open substrate and room to move around stable rockwork.

Provide a planned diet of suitable marine meaty foods, such as small pieces of clam or shrimp, placed where the star can reach them. General aquarium leftovers are not a dependable feeding program. Keep water conditions stable and avoid damaging the soft underside during handling.
