Bumblebee Pistol Shrimp needs a marine aquarium with protected shelter and a deliberate feeding routine. Provide rock crevices and make sure small portions reach the shrimp instead of being intercepted by faster tankmates. Quiet cover is particularly useful while it sheds and hardens a new shell.

Offer small marine meaty foods, such as appropriately sized mysis or finely chopped seafood, and observe feeding. The different shrimp traded under bumblebee names can take animal foods; algae alone is not an appropriate feeding plan. Remove excess food and maintain stable water conditions.

Plan companions cautiously. Bumblebee names also cover shrimp that feed on echinoderm tube feet, so compatibility with sea stars and similar invertebrates should not be assumed. A goby partnership likewise depends on the actual shrimp species. Confirm those relationships before building a mixed display around this animal.
