Blue Eye Nano Goby

The blue eye nano goby, Tryssogobius colini, is a tiny, delicate-looking marine fish with reflective eyes and fine coloured fin markings. Its small size makes feeding access and protection from larger residents more important than simply finding an empty space in the aquarium.

Provide mature rockwork with small crevices and sheltered areas. Offer finely sized marine foods that fit its mouth, distributing them close enough for the goby to capture. Watch the individual eat; food disappearing elsewhere in the tank does not establish that this timid fish received a meal.

Choose peaceful companions that cannot swallow or repeatedly intimidate it. Other gobies may compete for its shelter, so assess combinations carefully. Cover openings around the aquarium because even a tiny goby can jump through surprisingly small gaps.
