The bicolor angelfish, Centropyge bicolor, is recognisable by its sharply divided yellow and blue body. This dwarf angelfish spends much of its day exploring reef structure, making an established aquarium with ample rockwork more useful than a sparsely furnished swimming space.

Provide caves and narrow retreats alongside open routes through the aquascape. Feed a varied combination of marine angelfish preparations, algae-based foods and small meaty items. Natural grazing is valuable, but it should complement food offered directly and regular checks that the fish is eating.

Bicolor angels may nip corals and other attached invertebrates, so assess a reef collection carefully. Similar-shaped angelfish can also provoke territorial disputes. Plan a way to separate incompatible residents if persistent chasing or picking develops.
