Arrow Crab

The Arrow Crab has a narrow, pointed body and unusually long legs that make its movements through rockwork easy to recognize. It spends much of its time around crevices and overhangs, so an open display still needs sheltered places where it can retreat.

Offer small portions of marine meaty foods that reach the crab, rather than relying on scraps alone. Arrow crabs may eat small bristleworms, but this does not make them selective pest controllers or a replacement for routine aquarium maintenance.

Choose tankmates carefully. These opportunistic crabs can attack other crustaceans and small, slow fish, and may pick at polyps when food is scarce. Allow room for the legs and antennae of neighboring animals, and plan a way to separate the crab if conflicts develop.
