Ambon Cleaner Shrimp

Ambon Cleaner Shrimp should have a sheltered marine aquarium with rock crevices and quiet retreats. Leave places where the shrimp can withdraw while moulting, when its new shell is still soft. Stable salinity and careful acclimation are more useful than frequent changes to water chemistry.

Provide small marine foods that the shrimp can actually reach, including suitably sized frozen items and prepared crustacean food. Watch it take and consume food; a cleaner-shrimp label does not mean fish-cleaning activity will supply a complete diet. Remove excess portions before they decay.

Choose companions that do not hunt ornamental shrimp and avoid crowding competing crustaceans into a small shelter. Cleaning behaviour and adult size should be checked for the supplied animal, since Ambon is used for more than one cleaner-shrimp identity.
