Alpha & Omega Zoa Frag

Alpha & Omega Zoa Frag adds a colony-forming polyp coral to a mixed reef. Its mat can expand across adjacent hard surfaces, so choose an accessible position where you can inspect its edges and keep it from growing over neighbouring frags.

Moderate light after acclimation and lively, indirect circulation suit this type of coral. Start with less light when moving it between systems, then adjust gradually as the polyps settle. Keep sediment off the mat. Photosynthesis is important, and a modest offering of fine coral food may be accepted without requiring large meaty meals.

Zoanthids deserve careful handling even when small. Wear gloves and eye protection, keep damaged tissue away from your face, and never heat or boil colonised rock. Some zoanthids contain palytoxin, and trade names cannot establish that a colony is toxin-free.
