Choosing Trigger Fish
Triggerfish combine distinctive body shapes with strong feeding responses and substantial adult needs. Species differ in temperament and feeding habits, so assess the exact fish against your aquarium's swimming space and existing animals before choosing it.
Provide secure rock shelter and a varied marine diet appropriate to the species. Crustaceans, small fish and other invertebrates may be at risk, even with triggers considered more manageable in mixed displays. A small purchase size does not remove the need to plan for an adult trigger's strength, waste production and territory.
