Choosing Damsel
Damselfish add colour and activity around reef rockwork, but temperament deserves as much attention as appearance. Some smaller Chrysiptera species are more manageable community choices than strongly territorial damsels, and a peaceful juvenile may become more assertive as it settles.
Compare the exact species and adult size before adding a group or mixing similar fish. Multiple shelters and broken sightlines give residents room to avoid one another. Feed appropriate small marine foods and watch whether quieter tankmates can still reach meals and use their preferred retreats.
